3 Tips for joints that stay clean

TIP 1: Remove residual silicone

The surface area must be dry. Apply MELLERUD Silicone Remover evenly using a brush, for example. Let sit for approx. one hour for light silicone residue. Allow approx. 12 hours for more stubborn residue. You can then easily remove the silicone with a palette knife or sponge.

TIP 3: Finish with long-term protection

Joints must be clean and completely dry. Apply the impregnation to the joints using a brush. Remove any excess from joints or stone with a damp cloth or sponge within 24 hours of application. Allow to set for 24-48 hours. The surface can be cleaned normally after 36-48 hours. Wait approx. 3 hours before walking on surface.

TIP 2: Clean the joints

Spray MELLERUD Joint Cleaner directly onto the joints. Allow the product to set for a few minutes. Then clean with a sponge, scrubber or brush. Rinse tool regularly with clear water. Then wipe surface clean with water.

Use MELLERUD Mould Killer with Chlorine to clean deposits, discolouration or mould for heavily soiled, older joints.

EXTRA TIP

Start by using the silicone and glass ceramic stovetop scraper to carve out the bulk of the silicone joints when renewing old joints that have become unsightly. Then use the Silicone Remover to remove any remaining silicone.
