Penetrates deep into the surface. Makes surface water-repellent without affecting its water vapour permeability. Effective protection against hard rain. Water beads and runs off. Reduction of resoiling. Improves the free-breathing activity of the masonry and prevents harmful blooming. The effective reduction of water uptake reduces the heat conductance of the masonry. This improves it heat insulating qualities. In general, no optical change is noticed in the masonry. For hydrophobization of facades. Product is effective on alkaline and neutral substrates.
Suitable for all porous and absorbent surfaces and masonry. For plaster, concrete and clinker facades. For natural and artificial stones such as marble, agglomerate marbles, terrazzo, sandstone, granite, porphyry, hard stone. For clinker and clay tiles.
Applying saturating amount on dry, clean substrate by brushing or spraying. Apply thin layers only on hard stone. A repeated “wet-on-wet” application improves penetration depth and water-repellent qualities. A thin application is sufficient on hard-baked surfaces.
The amount applied must be suited to the absorbent capacity of the material. Excess material may lead to discolouring and an uneven appearance. Prior testing at a less prominent location is particularly important with natural and concrete cut stone types. The façade should be given a basic cleaning prior to application. We recommend cleaning materials that are not sensitive to acid such as clinker, clay brick and concrete with MELLERUD Clinker Brick and Facade Cleaner. For materials sensitive to acids (all calcareous stones such as e.g. marble, Solnhofener, terrazzo, agglomerate marble, various sandstone types and granites, etc.) we recommend MELLERUD Basic Cleaner Intensive.
